Over the past Easter Weekend Rensia, Simon and I were privileged enough to minister down in Gisborne again. The first time we went in January we were able to work with about 8 people in a lounge. This time we were able to work with about 30 or so people in a hall they rented during each session! We taught out of our manual to start off with but also went practical; breaking up into smaller groups and doing some hands-on exercises, which helped the people gain more confidence to minister themselves. To us, that is the difference between merely telling people what to do and actually showing them how to do it!
We again saw many people healed from physical sicknesses but something that stood out to me this time was seeing people react to hearing Good News. Years of legalism, manipulation and control were stripped off so many. Holding men and women in our arms as they cried and let go of all the guilt and condemnation they have been carrying around unnecessarily for so long has made me realize how desperate people are for actual Good News. Below is a letter a lady came to drop off after the weekend, which is just awesome!
“Dear Cornel, Rensia & Simon. Many thanks for your ministry, reconciliation and equipping of the saints. I was thoroughly encouraged by the testimonies of the goodness of our God and the freedom from pain and stiffness in my neck & hands & the victory and triumph we have through our Lord & Saviour Jesus!! A New Covenant Mindset!!!”
Amongst the many wonders we saw in those 2 days, this is one that stood out to me. A lady brought her son up for prayer. If I remember correctly he is about 3 and she told me he is autistic. We laid hands, ministered and did the whole shebang. The same day she sent us this message:
“Thank you guys for praying over my son this morning, wish I had been there for the previous sessions! B*** has been AWESOME this afternoon, playing and even leading games with other kids, who he usually fears and avoids. A happy little man! God is awesome!! J“
Here are two other messages we received from people who we got to minister to:
“An update on my asthma – I was using my inhaler every day but since Cornel prayed for me on Thursday night, I haven’t used it at all and my lungs are feeling so FREE!! Thank you Jesus!!”
“WOW! Got some amazing healing today thru Jesus. My sore shoulders were relieved, relaxed and became painless after prayer! The experience was un-real… but oh so real!! Thank U dear Father!”
If I just think back about the healings we did see, I can remember cold and flu symptoms being healed, various back issues sorted out, pain caused by arthritis in the hands leaving, a stiff neck loosened up, and lady who had a persistent cough for over 18 years showed a remarkable change as she started coughing less and less and she also slept peacefully for the first time in years and told us she has not felt this great in very long time. Sore shoulders, asthma, and others I can’t even remember now. But even more wonderful than seeing these healings was revealing God’s power to people who weren’t ‘sick’. One girl chopped a piece of her index finger off when she was younger. Simon told her to hold her finger next to the full-length one and told the finger to grow. There before our eyes her finger started growing out. It didn’t grow out all the way but it was noticeably longer!
Finger growing went over to leg growing which had almost everybody standing in line to have us ‘grow their legs out.’ Now I know the controversy surrounding ‘growing legs out’ and everything but this was something else. Many of the people’s legs weren’t shorter to start with. But when we told a leg to grow, it became longer, when we told it to go back it went back and every time the person would be shocked as they said they could feel things happening in their legs. One lady actually went home and tried it on her sister and the same thing happened to her. I don’t regard what happened as healings, since the people weren’t sick or in pain. To me it was more a demonstration of God’s power. The Bible says to preach the Kingdom with power, not just words. How do you demonstrate power when the people you preached to aren’t sick? This, for us, was one way of doing that. If you don’t like it, go tell God what box you would like Him to climb in for you.
Anyway, if any of the people who were down in Gisborne with us would like to share what happened to them with the people who read this blog, please do so by commenting below.
Thank you Jesus for everything you do!
Yours in Grace!
Cornel

The growing legs out just to demonstrate His power. haha brilliant
Thanks Charisma for coming down. We were all so blessed. I was especially blessed to see a precious sister amazingly touched and transformed by the power of God. How awesome is my Abba and how much He loves us !
PTL. Our God is good. My husband called me from the meeting on Good Friday to say he had been prayed over for his back pain & as a result his leg had grown & would I like to come down to the meeting. I am a believer but I was sceptical & everything in me was working against going to see what had happened. However I found myself in the car albeit with an angry disposition. I did ask for prayer and found myself crumpled and crying on the ground. In that moment our God took away years of anger, bitterness , hurt & condemnation. He does make the lame to walk and the blind to see but he also heals the broken hearted. He also ‘turned on a light’ after 30 years of ministry all things fell into place. Never limit the Holy One of Israel
Awesome. It’s so good to hear of someone else teaching healing by hands on exercises and mentoring.
With the leg growing, did you have them STAND in line or sit down? Just curious!
Thank you for sharing Yvonne and Jenny!
@Jeremy, well, some were sitting in line, other’s were standing around watching and waiting for their turn to sit down.
