Healing

2Co 6:2 For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. (ESV)

How often do we hear that somebody wasn’t healed because of God’s timing? God had a different time in mind for when He wanted to heal that person. Today, I want to throw a grenade at that sacred cow. I am not going to go into great detail explaining the atonement again what was included in it all over again, but never the less, here are the scriptures so you can check it out yourself: In Isa 53:4-5 a prophecy is made that Jesus would carry our griefs (Hebrew: sickness, pain, disease) and sorrows (Hebrew: affliction, pain) and that by His stripes we are healed. Then in Matt 8:16-17 we see Jesus healing REAL people of ACTUAL diseases and casting out demons to fulfill this prophecy. Then after the complete fulfillment at the whipping post, where He took the stripes through which you are healed, and by beating death at the resurrection we find in 1 Pet 2:24 that by His stripes we were healed. Since healing is tied in with the same atonement that provides for salvation, you can’t separate God’s will for healing and salvation. One atonement with two parts operating through one will.

Now if you believe that any person can be saved anytime no matter what they have done when they place their faith in Christ, then the same has to hold true for healing since it’s provided for in the same atonement sacrifice. If God were to have a timing for healing, then that would automatically mean God would also have to have a timing for salvation, which would mean you wouldn’t be able to just get saved whenever you wanted to because maybe it wasn’t God’s will for you to get saved that day. Maybe He has another day in mind for you to get saved. Can you see how how ridiculous that sounds? Jesus even used healing to back up His will for forgiveness when He healed the lame man by saying, “Be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you.” (Mark 2:10-11) Anytime you separate God’s will for healing and God’s will for salvation, you are stepping out of God’s will for both. They were sovereignly united and should be kept together. The Greek word for heal and save is exactly the same word, sozo. As is the Greek word for healing and salvation, soterio.

From Adam to Jesus and even until the early church, nobody had a problem with God healing. I mean, He calls Himself Jehovah Raphah, or I AM THAT I AM HEALING. Their issue back then was with God saving. The Pharisees didn’t get upset when Jesus healed the lame man, they got upset because He forgave the man. Today, we don’t have an issue with God saving, but we get our knickers in a bunch when it comes to healing. Why? God wants you well! Get over yourself and turn to Him so He can treat you like He wants to!

Jas 5:14-15 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15  And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (ESV)

If ANYONE is sick, call the elders and let them pray over the sick person. The Lord will raise that person up. That is scripture people. ANYONE, God WILL raise them up. Look at how that verse ends: And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Bam! Healing first then sins forgiven. Whipping post then cross. Healing then salvation. Always together, always God’s will. God will heal you with sin in your life and use you to heal others with sin in your life.

Now if you minister healing to somebody and nothing happens. Go back and do it again. If nothing happens, go back and do it again. If nothing is still happening, then ask for help from somebody who sees better results. Never give up never surrender. Keep doing this until you see the result. God is faithful. You only fail when you give up. Exercise authority and dominion. (That means learn to use it and then use it regularly. ) You will only learn if you practice. Don’t bury your talents in the ground. Use them and you will be given more! Do the same works Jesus did and greater! God has so much faith in you that He made you an ambassador for Christ. Bring the kingdom to those in need. Touch them and let the Spirit do the rest!

You are blessed!

There are a lot of things I can tolerate but when believers tell other people they are sick because they have something like bitterness or unforgiveness in their heart and that God can’t heal them until they get rid of that, I feel the spirit of drop-kick come over me. This is one of the most prolific and deep seated old covenant mindsets there are in the area of supernatural ministry.

Whenever you tell somebody that ‘God can’t heal you until you do this’, then you are preaching the law. You are putting those people under works, trying to make them earn the freedom Jesus died to give them. You are establishing conditionals for reconciliation that God never did. If you do that, you are of the wrong spirit and wrong ministry (2 Cor 3:4-9).

2 Cor 5:19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. (NIV)

God is NOT COUNTING men’s sins against them. That means He is NOT COUNTING your sins against you! Not now, not ever. Why? Because He counted them against Christ! If you are saying a certain sin is stopping God’s power, you are saying Jesus was a failure because He apparently didn’t die for that sin,  and that God is still counting that sin against you. ‘Your sin is stopping God’s love’. What a load of bull! God loved you while you were yet sinners!

Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (NIV)

His power is there to free you from sin. The Gospel is the power of God onto salvation. Jesus died to set you free. If the Power is there to free you, why do need the get free before you can gain access to the power so you can be set free? That is like telling a person in jail that they need to make their own key to unlock the prison door so they can and go out and get the warden’s key to open the same door. Why do you need 2 keys? Easy, you DON’T. Whenever you are telling people their sin is stopping God, you are counting their sins against them and then you operating in the ministry of death and condemnation (2 Cor 3:4-9). You have lost your saltiness because you are judging and condemning the very people you have been called to preserve.

John 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (NKJV)

JESUS IS NOT CONDEMNING YOU!!!!

John 8:10-11 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” (NKJV)

If you are pointing out people’s faults, you are in the same group as these Pharisees who pointed the woman’s faults out to Jesus. You are ministering condemnation and death. But what does Jesus do? He says, “I can’t help you until you repent and seek forgiveness for this willful sin of adultery you are in, so sorry, I guess you are getting stoned today.” No, he chased them away and told the woman HE DOES NOT CONDEMN HER. He is not counting her sins against her or yours against you because He is counting them against Himself. He was made sin for you! Stop counting other people’s sins against them! But what about the ‘go and sin no more’ part? Even if she went and sinned again, Jesus is still not going to condemn her. If He was going to condemn her for a future sin later, then He might as well not have saved her then and just let them stone her. It would totally defeat the purpose.

So why did He tell her that? Because the devil is waiting for you to sin so he can attack you with something. And when he does, you will be inclined to believe it is because you sinned, that God is now again displeased with you. Then you are going to go try and work for His approval again so you can get free again. Like a yo-yo on a string you have allowed the devil to be your puppet master. Sin, bring a sacrifice. Sin, bring a sacrifice. Sin, seek forgiveness. Sin, seek forgiveness. Like a hamster in wheel you will get nowhere doing that. You will be in and out of guilt and condemnation and it will always be based on your ability to seek forgiveness. It has NEVER been about our ability to seek forgiveness. It has ALWAYS been about Jesus’ ability to provide forgiveness. All you need to do is believe it and accept it! Then exercise dominion and authority by commanding the devil to get out of your life because ALL ALL ALL ALL his works are illegal! If he is in your life, it’s because you have failed to kick him out with the power Jesus died to provide. So get up, get over yourself and kick the devil out of your life!

Philem 1:6 that the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. (NKJV)

This is an awesome verse. It tells you exactly how to make the sharing of your faith effective: acknowledge every GOOD thing which is IN YOU in Christ Jesus. To know what is IN you in Christ Jesus, you need to look at the atonement. Do you know what was provided for in the atonement?

• Physical Healing (Isa 53:4-5, Matt 8:16-17, 1 Pet 2:24)
• Deliverance (Isa 53:4-5, Col 2:15, Mark 16:17)
• Salvation (Isa 53:4-5, Rom 1:16)

These verses show that God provided for the reconciliation of the total man through the suffering and death of Jesus on the cross. As far as God is concerned, those things are a done deal in your life the moment you are reborn. When the FINISHED WORKS of the cross are made effective over your life by grace through faith, you received in you everything needed to live life free from sickness and oppression. God did His part perfectly. (I am not going to go into details about this now but you can look it up yourselves in verses like 2nd Peter 1:3-4, Eph 1:3, Heb 10:14, 1st John 4:17, 1st John 2:20, 1st John 2:27, Acts 1:8 and Matt 28:18-19) Basically, you lack nothing.  Any other teaching is unscriptural and just a lie that keeps you busy looking for something you already have instead of using it and giving it away to those who need it.

Since God did everything He needed to do already, it means you can’t get Him to do something He has already done. No amount of begging or pleading or fasting or good deeds will move God to flip your miracle switch up in heaven. He has ALREADY flipped it! It is also not very wise to ask God to do something He told us to do. Yes, that’s right, you have a part to play.

2 Cor 5:17-19 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. (NKJV)

God gave us the ministry of reconciliation. Healing is physical reconciliation. Deliverance is reconciliation of the soul. Salvation is spiritual reconciliation. Think about this: If God said He gave us the ministry of reconciliation, does that mean He thinks we can do it? YES!! This should be no-brainer yet the church seems to think God doesn’t know what He is talking about. Don’t get me wrong, I know I don’t heal, deliver or save because verse 19 says He committed to me the WORD OF RECONCILITATION. Since the gospel is the power of God unto salvation (soterio – save, heal, protect, deliver & make whole) it means when I speak gospel, when I speak the word of reconciliation, God can confirm His Word through me. If I don’t speak gospel, or if I speak my own opinion, God is under no obligation to confirm my word. When you speak gospel, you become the voice of God on the earth! The power is at work within you, you let it out by speaking it! (Rom 10:8)

Mark 16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. (NKJV)

God worked WITH them confirming THE WORD and He will work WITH you confirming THE WORD. Not the person, not the church, not the ministry, not the opinion, not the tradition, not the performance, not the fasting, not the praying, THE WORD! When you mix opinion, performance, methods, fasting, holy living etc. with the Word, you are preaching a tradition of man which God has no obligation to confirm. I believe He sometimes does step in and help us out of pure mercy, but we will be so much more consistent and effective when we get ourselves and our own ideas out of the gospel and just present it in its pure form!

1 Cor 2:2 For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. (NKJV)

That was Paul’s attitude. We need that attitude back in the body. The attitude I hear so often rather sounds like this, “Yes Jesus died, BUT you have to do this and that before He will do this and that.” That is not the gospel. There is no BUT in the gospel. That is not even God! God calls Himself “I AM THAT I AM”, not “I will that I will when you”. When you say, “Yes, Jesus died BUT…” to a person, you just pronounced a judgment on them and you placed them back under a conditional law of self performance to work for God’s approval. Stop judging and start setting free!

When somebody is sick, preach the gospel, then do the gospel: “By His stripes we were healed.” Lay hands, command sickness, symptoms and infirm spirits to leave. Command healing of the affected areas. Check for change, repeat if needed. Don’t back off, don’t give up!

When somebody is oppressed, preach the gospel, then do the gospel. “The principalities and power were defeated at the cross. Believers will cast out devils.” Command spirits to leave the person. Declare them free. Check for changes, repeat if needed. Don’t back off, don’t give up.

God gave you the tools and the Helper to HELP you so go help somebody!
