You: “God, I heard a preacher say you are judging me, cities, countries and nations because we sin. Is this true? Are you judging me?”

God: “John 5:22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son.”

You: “Jesus, Father said He committed all judgment to You. Are you judging me, cities, countries and nations because we sin?”

Jesus: John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. And don’t forget John 12:47 And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.”

You: “Then who is it that keeps making me feel judged and condemned?

Jesus: “Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”

You: “The law gives the knowledge of sin!? Of course, without the law I wouldn’t have even known something was considered a sin!”

Holy Spirit: “Gen 1:3 And there was light! LOL”

You: “Hey, Holy Spirit! This same preacher said You are walking right there with us and each time we sin You are right there to convict us because that is Your ministry. If Dad and Jesus aren’t judging, why are You making us feel so condemned?”

Holy Spirit: “2Cr 3:6-9 [God] made us[you] sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 7 But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, 8 how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

You: “So Your ministry has nothing to do with conviction of sin and condemnation because Scripture contrasts Your ministry of life with the condemning ministry of death engraved on stones! But why do I keep hearing the condemning voice of the Law in my head?”

Jesus: “Rev 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

You: “So the accuser, satan, was before Father holding up the Law and showing my every sin to Him in an attempt to make Father judge and punish me. But that didn’t work since he was bounced. Now he has been cast down and instead of showing Father the Law and everything I am doing wrong, he is showing it to me, trying to make me believe it is Holy Spirit convicting me of Father’s judgment. What is he trying to accomplish?”

Father: “Gal 5:4 you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.”

You: “So by showing me the law and tricking me into feeling judged by You, satan is trying to get me to once again work for my justification! And if I fall for that, I fall from grace! But people always say we fall from grace when we sin? They were all wrong! We fall from grace by trying to be justified by the law and works!”

Holy Spirit: “Rom 5:20 But where sin abounds, grace abounds much more.”

You: “Now that’s Good News!”

God, Jesus, Holy Spirit: “AMEN!”

Thanks for this. This is great. I have a question though. What do you making of 1 Pet 4:17 – judgment beginning with the house of God. Is this a different type of judgment that’s mentioned there. And what do you make of the judgment mentioned in 1 Cor. 11:27-32?

Hey, I’ve got a question. Do you know what the Colossians 3:6 stands for? I’ve been thinking about it lately and I’m not sure what the wrath of God means. It surely doesn’t represent the wrath that God put on Jesus for us. Could you comment on that please? Thank you.

    • Cornel says:

Col 3:6 is in reference to the final judgment that will one day happen and is aimed at unbelievers. Believers need not worry about this, just read verse 7.

Fantastic article! Thank you! I have a question that bugs me – why did Aninias and Sapphira get judged?
Would you mind giving a comment.

    • Cornel says:

I believe Peter was the one who caused their death. People think God did it, but the Bible gives no such indication. Peter was the one captivated by Jesus causing a tree to die through words. Life AND DEATH are in the power of the tongue. We know Peter also had a short temper and tried to kill in Jesus’ Name once before when Jesus was being arrested. Paul also used words in Acts 13 to cause a sorcerer to become blind. I would go out trying to kill or mame people with words, but it is not impossible. We can curse in the same way we can bless. I also don’t think Peter acted rightly, but all Ananias and Sapphira really got was to go to heaven sooner. In 1 Cor 5 Paul also speaks about handing a man over to be killed so his spirit can go be with the Lord because he refuses to stop sleeping with his mother. Paul said he would do this while not even present, so I would venture to say it happens through what we speak.
